Butterfly with a Bomb is a Glasgow theatre company based on the principle of collaboration. We produced Rewrite, our first full length play, in 2013 and followed this with Giving Up The Ghost in 2014. In August 2015, we took Giving Up The Ghost to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We have also been involved in community work, including a performance for East Renfrewshire Carers' Centre during Carers Week 2015. While our core membership consists of three female theatre makers, we regularly collaborate with other performers and artists in creating work. Alongside our individual projects, we are currently developing a new autobiographical devised piece.

Anna Blainey
Anna is Butterfly with a Bomb's playwright and co-director. She has written several full length plays and her writing has been included in events such as Stage to Page, Progressive Playwright and The Stove Network's 'Light and the Senses' event. As well as continuing to write and work on projects with Butterfly with a Bomb, she has recently qualified as an English teacher and looks forward to introducing the joy of writing to a younger generation. She has largely directed her own work, but her training in dramaturgy means that she savours the challenge of approaching texts in unorthodox ways, and looks forward to doing this more in the future.
